Fast and Furious
Vin and Paul back driving fast in a pure popcorn flick. Enjoyable and possibly better than the original in some respects. Should have been the movie that followed the original rather than the other two pieces of shit that were in between.
State of Play
I've been looking forward to watching this for ages. I loved the original TV mini-series with John Simm and Bill Nighy. Obviously they couldn't keep all of the source material in a 2hr movie but they got the balance just right while adding in some interesting new themes. At times it felt a little flat but it was carried by some solid performances, possibly one of Russell Crowe's better performanaces, definitely his best recently. Ben Affleck was great, about bloody time. Helen Mirren was good in Bill Nighy's role and Racheal McAdams was good in a different take on Kelly McDonald's role.
Interestingly enough they had originally intended this film to have Brad Pitt and Ed Norton in place of Crowe and Affleck. I'm glad they didn't end up making it with that particular cast, would have been a completely different film.
My brain was left dribbling out my ears after trying to slam itself against my skull out of frustration with the shear stupidity of this film. On the other hand it had hot chicks fighting in bikinis in it
Watchable, interesting but falls short of what you would have liked. Danny Boyle seems to have done this with all of his films. I think he gets too caught up in the process and doesn't step back to see what needs to hit the cutting room floor and what is important to the on-screen story-telling (he was raving about the lighting guy and set designer's efforts in the extras).
Oh and Mark Strong was in this as well. Had a total of 2 scenes and still managed to create menace as the bad-guy. He and John Simm are probably in my top 10 actors list without a problem.
well i dont remember what it was called. I just googled chubby latina and it was under like "pornpod" or something like that. I love me some slightly thick latin girls, well just this one I work with but anyways. yeah watched that last night before i went to bed
Look, I may be old fashioned, but when a man tells me to wear my boner pants I wear my boner pants.
Such classic lines as "You should not drink and bake" and continual references to healthy living how can you not like it? Wasn't much of a film, but I hadn't seen this one of Arnie's (surprising as I thought the only one I hadn't seen was Jingle all the Way, due to not wanting to kill myself). Cheesy but good for a slow afternoon hangover recovery.
I quite enjoyed this film. I don't know what everyone was complaining about. Sure this isn't a patch on the T2 or even the original, but it still pisses all over T3 and that woeful TV show (that is only watchable because of River Tam/Summer Glau). Of course my biggest complaint was that the director and script writer/s really haven't thought about what is likely to happen to society and the world in general under the assigned event timeline. Creates plot holes and unlikelihoods where they could have just had a smooth story arc.
Blue Harvest - Family Guy
They need to do The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi.
watched sherlock holmes.
wasnt bad but wasnt what i was expecting, no mystery in it like the old sherlock holmes movies, more of an action adventure instead.
I wouldn't have watched this if Line hadn't spoken so highly of it. I am so glad I did. Fantastic film from start to finish. The two stories running along side one another was well handled and was just ambiguous enough that you could believe whichever was happening.
Have to say though that del Toro was on my shit movie-maker list. Mimic, Hellboy, almost ruining Blade 2, so I was surprised that he could make something so good.
