as far as the session
1.) if you were in the gym at 5:30, what time did you actually wake up? 4:45?
2.) still some solid work dude, I'm sure if you continue lifting in the morning you'll eventually adapt, plus working out that early in the day (for me at least) has always given me a sigh of relief because now its out of the way and you don't have to worry about it, you can just go out and do your thing
