I'll kick of

1. high reps get you 'toned' - Whatever that means.

2. When you stop working out all your muscles will turn to fat

i like when people have conversations about your bodybuilding and then tell you 'when a bodybuilder is competiting they're at their weakest' however they say it with more of an implied 'bodybuilders are all show and no go' type of insinuation!

yeah were a bit weaker, but still quite strong!

I am a teen so i apologize for there stupidity on behalf of my fellow delinquents ( deadlifts are the true power movement to me no negative motion all positive picking a weight up is the most basic of the basic)

"I don't do calves...I'm not going to stunt my growth."
"Squatting fucks up your knees, so that's why I don't do it."

Those are the 2 worst ones I hear.

Also:

-Creatine is extremely dangerous

-Girls: "I don't want to workout because I don't want to have huge muscles."

-Doing abs constantly will make them show up regardless of bodyfat.

You beat me to them! As a personal trainer, I literally deal with these 2 on a daily basis!

Spot reducing in general is one of the, if not the, biggest myth in the industry!

some very common myths have already been mentioned....but here's another few

"You don't have to be strong to be big"

"Just follow the same training programs as pro bodybuilders - that's how you get big and strong"

"Training like a powerlifter doing squats and deads etc will make your physique look blocky"

"If you want to be big and strong you just need to take steroids"

These are complete and utter BULLSHIT MYTHS!!!

i think jay cutler is living proof you don't have to be that strong to be big :keke: seriously tho his lifts for his size are far from impressive.

heres one that people use to discredit one's hard work: it means nothing if your big and have used steroids, they did all the work and it's cheating.

you are aware that jay cutler follows a high volume approach, often doing up too 30 sets for a bodypart? he can lift extremely heavy weight, but its not his philosophy to do so, and that is one of the reasons why he's never gotten an injury. hes more concerned with longevity in the sport then tossing around heavy weights.

Can you do 200LB dumbell presses, cable crossovers with the stack, or even squat from 135 to 500lbs for 6 sets of 12 reps each?

Until then, respect the fridge, he's certainly earned it. :tiphat:
