Anyone who has read my log will know I don't use any training aids. This is both a moral and research based decision. Here is some science on weight belts and where they are best used.

The file isnt opening for me for some reason by I am realizing that weight belts are not useful unless you are a powerlifter going for a crazy one rep max. Ones intra-abdominal pressure should be created by their own abdominal strength and not aided by a weight belt in all other cases.

It opened just now for me Creator... but I agree with what you said as well. :tiphat: I only attempt at using a belt if I am doing extremely heavy weight sets or a 1 RM.

I agree you shouldn't use a weight belt if your a recreational lifter. It has a negative effect. I honestly believe people are just trying to emulate powerlifters or create that serrious hardcore look. So strap on your gloves, wrist straps, wraps, belt and when your ready squat and bench shirt......lol
