Well 2 weeks ago i suddenly got violently ill out of nowhere. Went to the emergency room 6 times in the past week for shortness of breath and couldnt breath, and spent a week in hospital and doctors still dont know whats wrong...

I have diarrhoea, shortness of breath (comes and goes throughout the day), chest pains, muscle/weight loss, bone/joint pain in my knees and pelvic bone, joints feel sharp (couldn't walk the other day), extreme fatigue (any exertion leaves me feeling ill), and i got these huge dark bags under my eyes, pulse when i wake up is 100 then later on its like 40-45, then sometimes when i get up out of my chair it starts racing and hair loss. I'm out of hospital now and still about to see a lot of specialists to figure all this out, its been a scary experience.

Blood work showed nothing wrong, lung function test was excellent, muscle function was good but they said i was a bit weak in the hips (thighs and the surrounding joints), white cell count was normal so its not a virus or infection ( but it sure feels like one). CT scan of the chest showed residual thymic tissue in the lungs but they said its normal for someone of my age, also about to do a DEXA scan, 24 hour holter monitor (for the heart), and see an endocrinologist. Also had a endoscopy and colonoscopy both which were normal except their was some inflammation of my small intestine.

Just wondering what i can do to keep my size... i mean im already losing after 2 weeks of being ill. Taking glutamine, creatine, vitamins/minerals, fish oil. Ive been eating junk food to get the calories in... and im a endomorph and cant lose weight at all generally but now the weight is dropping and its a little scary especially since i dont know whats wrong with me.

Anyway any tips are much appreciated,

Thanks guys.

Same rules as usual applies, keeping the catabolism to a minimum.

I.e, eating right, getting enough sleep(if not more due to illness), etc. the usually mentioned factors still remains.

It's really all about diet. It sounds like your pretty sick, so doing so will be tough. Anyway, I was reading an article about one of the American Gladiators and he goes months without going to the gym because of photo shoots, TV shows, etc. But he maintains all of his size by keeping his diet the same as if he was trying to maintain his size while lifting. Find your caloric intake for maintenance of weight, and follow that.
