I saw it, i recommend it definitely, but i have to say this
when i got their before everyone else, i sat down, 3mins before previews etc, all these parents brought their little kids in,
etc, theres some scenes that are definitely inappropriate for kids

It was good. Not great, but good. Lots of nods to geeky one liners that Star Trek fans will love. Some stiff acting from Spock... (?)

Best actor: James T. Kirk himself. Seems like some good chemistry with the new cast, will have to see how it pans out in future movies.

I thought Eric Bana did a great job as the mad Romulan.

Worst review ever.
Inspired casting, weak story, hardly inspiratory. In some ways it eschewed the more Socratic notes made famous by previous series installments. In other words, its generic action (albeit well done action), with a Star Trek label slapped on it and, to appease fans, sent endless one-liner nods to its predecessors without ever delving into what actually made Star Trek Star Trek.

Who the fuck cares about that besides Trekkies ?
It's not a matter of being faithful or not to the source material but of adding context and weight to the otherwise fluttery, action-heavy narrative.
