My 2008 pt cruiser LX is getting shit gas mileage.
while back i got 17.4 mpg avg (says on the console) now it after i took it to dealer to get fixed (they said it was some residue in gas tank, which caused some rotten egg smell) now i get 17.0 mpg, on a fucking pt cruiser, wtf?

These cars get shat gas mileage, on the PTcruise forum im on
people barely get up to 23mpg. i might as well drive some Ford POS.

Why did you get a PT cruiser anyways? My 6k pound truck gets 13.5 MPG with 350HP and a lead foot.

cus its all i can afford, cheap car, i couldnt afford more than 10k$
im actually getting around 22+ mpg, i didn't know that the console rounded up my mpg.

What? I'm confused. So your console says your getting 17mpg but you are actually getting 22+mpg and the console rounds up? :turborun:

the console tells you your average lmao.. this mpg thing is gettin gout of hand! sure you will get more mpg on highway than in city.

my avg mpg is 18.5 on a infiniti g35

i drive a 2003 Toyota Tacoma with a V6 and fourwheel drive and i get about 16.5 mpg. my brother used to drive a 200 Toyota Tacoma with a V6 and fourwheel drive and he could get between 19 and 20 mpg. i could never get anymore then 17.5 mpg in my truck which always sucked. lately ive been getting less then 16 mpg and i cant figure why the fuck it is doin that now.

could be plenty of stuff. dirty or old spark plugs, bad fuel, low or uneven tire pressure etc.

A possible answer to both the mileage decreases of Hypo and Jnutz may have to do with O2 sensors in the exhaust and the state of the catalytic converter. The O2 sensors in the exhaust track from an integral part of the control feedback loop that the ECU uses to choose how much fuel to squirt in the engine. If your Cat is clogged or the sensors are damaged at all it can result in up to a 30% loss in fuel economy.

My suggestion is to get your sensors checked, get your cat checked, check the air filters and also think about replacing your cat, as they do have a finite life span.

And Hypo, Ford does not make POS cars. Their cars are actually some of the best on the market these days. Their quality ratings are surpassing Toyota today.
