Im a 20 year old exhockey player in college looking for a new hobby. I have some prior experience working out (drylands and weightroom for hockey) but would love some advice to get started weight lifting regularly. Im 5'9" and about 180 and consider myself pretty athletic.

A full body or upper/lower body program would be good. Stick to the big compound movements and you'll be golden.

And never, ever do quarter squats OR a 6-board press minus the board.

Ripetoes or 5x5 could be a good start. We have a sticky of the 5x5 program. Folow it by the book and you will be amazed by the results
