I think whomever came up with the list doesn't understand the difference between villain and antagonist.

I was thinking the same thing. The shark in JAWs couldn't be described as villianous. A pretty good list none the less. Pennywise should have been top 10. I couldn't sleep with a closet door open for the length of time it took me to read that book.

I wouldve had Ozymandias #1

Most villians have no purpose other then some bullshit domination thing, Money, or a sadistic fetish.

Yeh lets compare one of two or three eponymous* villains with one that most people would not even recognise if they hadn't just made a movie about it. Even then I don't know that Ozymandias would be recognised as widely as Darth Vader or The Joker.

*I'm using this term as you can use "Darth" or "The Joker" as a descriptor of villainy or use the name without other explanation of evil, yet convey villainous intent.

Thats true, i didnt even know the comic existed until i heard of the movie lol. I really would love to see more antagonists with depth in their actions and someone who more grey then black and white. Most people are all in love with the joker because of a couple of itterations, the comic of which that artwork above is from (i dont remember the series) and The Dark Knight... who isnt exactly the same joker he was originally intended to be. The original joker was much more fruity and silly, not grimey and vicious.... but then again, i know very little about comics and comic culture.
