Describe your training philosophy in three sentences!

Here is mine.

Low volume and frequency with good nutrition for recovery.

Controlled reps with negatives for intensity techniques.

Progressive overload of weight over consistant rep ranges with consistent form essential.

Going to the gym, enjoying working out, and experimenting with diff. exercises.

edit: with that said, I do medium volume (alternate with low volume or high volume at times), controlled reps, negatives and all.

Squat.
Bench.
Deadlift.

Haha, nice one.

I'd go with these 3 sentences:
Work smarter AND harder.
Logic, reason, and science over "Bro-say".
Recognize mental and physical stagnation.

One issue i have with "lift like a bodybuilder" is that most pro's train like ****. So many people take advice from pro's with sick genes who go around doing glorified pump-ups they consider hard training. Other things i have issues with when association with that phrase is Dorian-esque training which i feel is not very effective unless your recovery is phenomenal and genes are pretty good. I did some HIT training for a while and i noticed good results but my CNS and recovery was raped all the time, I was feeling like crap everyday. Then come the Charles glass routines; no top pro's train with him anymore and the ones that do are very hit or miss, they also rarely get much bigger, many get smaller (Dexter, Melvin). The only time his clients got much bigger was back in the 90's when Cormier, Wheeler, and a bunch of other guys would compete with one another and try to lift heavier then one another which resulted in them growing consistently.

What im trying to say is that too many bodybuilders train too wishy washy. Too many recognized bodybuilders have their genes, drugs and food carry them to the top even if their training is terrible. i would agree with the "train like a bodybuilder" phrase if at least 60% of pros trained great but the sad truth is that less then half of the pro's out there train really well.

Same as here but volume is zero... or is one set counted as low volume? Because you need at least one set to have workout.

- Progressive overload ( planned)
- Wave cycling ( no need to go 100% each day)
- LB work should be a bigger part of your routine ( more squat and deads and less presses)
