From MD:

Big Ramy Sensation - Will Compete at the New York Pro 2014!

In a dramatic will-he won't-he turn of events we have just learned that the Egyptian giant, Big Ramy, will defend his NY Pro title this Saturday, May 17. It seemed that a respiratory problem he endured some weeks ago had sabotaged the 29 year old's prep for this years NY pro but now he aims to walk onto the Tribecca Theater stage with all 24" guns blazing.

Noises from his camp seem to indicate that what we will not see on Saturday is a patched up Big Ramy limping into battle to honor a contest contract obligation. Instead the word is that he will make last year's Big Ramy look like the Michelin Man by virtue of newly mined feathery detail complete with ripped up quads. AND, and at 290 pounds he will be ten pounds heavier than the physique that steamrollered to victory last year. This guy is already a phenomenon by virtue of being the biggest competitive bodybuilder we have ever seen and by only having worked out for three years. If he comes in as we hear his legend will grow like .... well a Big Ramy, and he will surely present the major threat to Phil Heath's Olympia reign.

Hope so. Juan was robbed in Brasil. But I don't see Big Rammy losing his title though.

I am totally with you. if anything unfair would be to happen it would most likely be anything after Rammy

UPDATE: Fouad Abiad is out from the 2014 NY Pro!

"Well it's been almost a week since Dallas and people keep asking me about NY. I didn't want to say anything publicly until I had spoken with sponsors, promoters, trainers but now I can fill you guys in.

Unfortunately the night after Dallas I spent the night in the hospital. I had another gallbladder attack the same as last year.

After some testing without going into too much detail doctors have told me I need to let my body rest for 4-6 weeks.

Taking the doctors advice means I will miss NY & TO this year but this doesn't mean my year is done. Just a rest for now and I'll have to think about my plan moving forward.

I want to apologize to all my supporters but this is just a speed bump not a road block. Thank you for understanding and staying with me.

Sacrifice Without Regret.
Fouad Hoss Abiad"
