The Organizing Committee office in Montreal is working at full swing now, Joe Spinello’s assistant Ms. Valérie Potel tries to co-ordinate all arrivals and departures, Mr. Spinello has to fix all details at the venue (Salle André Mathieu)and in the hotel (Sheraton Laval). Salle André Mathieu with 827 seats is known for its high quality acoustics and technical equipment. This is a perfect place to display the beauty and harmony of the human body. In each of six IFBB sport divisions the body is presented in a different style. In Bikini Fitness, like on the baroque paintings, you can see contours, shape and smoother skin. In Bodyfitness: more details and sharper lines. In Women’s Physique: bigger muscles and rounded bodyparts. In Men’s Physique: delicate lines and harder muscularity. But the last two divisions are very special. In Mixed Pair we can see two bodies, male and female, moving in motion, with art and rhythm, showing not only their bodies but also feelings and mood. Fitness is at the top: is more dynamic, more athletic, more flexible, where the smallest details and gestures count and have their meanings. Fitness is a combination of art and sport, of move and power, of emotions and feelings.
I will start our presentations of stars coming to Montreal from this sport art as almost the whole world fitness elite will be there.
Men’s Fitness
Last year’s champion Konstantin Nekrasov (Russia) will come to defend the title. Former world champion Oleg Anissimov (Estonia) will try to regain the title. Last year’s bronze medal winner and the current European champion Fedir Khashalov (Ukraine) is dreaming about “better” color of medal this year. Plus the next two medal winners at the latest European Championships: phenomenal in the routine round Nazar Kharkhun (Ukraine) and 2013 world junior champion Mihai Moruz (Romania). And the 2014 Eastern European Championships runner-up Anton Mushtanov (Russia). Moreover, new competitor from Norway: Martin Heede, with martial arts and men’s physique experience. Having all these great stars on one stage, we can expect the best ever men’s fitness championships!
Women’s Fitness up to 163 cm
Over 10 competitors, with the current women’s and juniors world champion: Dominika Multanova (Slovakia). But the next two medal winners from Kiev (last year’s Worlds) will also be there: Kristina Koroljak (Estonia), who won the routine round last year and Olga Volokh (Russia) – an amazing matured lady who displays the best silhouette on the stage. Volokh was the 2012 world champion and will try to regain the title. But there will be more determined and hungry challengers: current European champion Anna Dudushkina (Russia) who returned to stage in a great style at the 2014 European Championships in Santa Susanna, the next two medal winners from Santa Susanna: Georgiiana Padure (Romania), who won both routine rounds and Emma Paveley (United Kingdom). Plus former top world junior Laura Cupsa (Romania) who already placed 4th at the European Women’s Championships (2012).
Women’s Fitness over 163 cm
Not less attractions. Almost all finalists of the last year’s Worlds, only the world champion Natalia Nazarenko-Kiivikas will be… the Stage Director this time. On the stage we will see: 2014 World Ladies Cup and Amateur Olympia Europe overall winner Liudmila Nikitina (Russia), former European champion and 2014 Amateur Olympia runner-up Tatiana Dvortsova (Russia), former World Championships runner-up and 2013 European champion Barbora Seckarova-Buncakova (Slovakia), 2012 Women’s Worlds runner-up and 2014 World Ladies Cup runner-up Oksana Orobets (Ukraine), former top world junior and 2013 European Women’s Championships runner-up Endla Vaher (Estonia), two finalists of the recent European Championships: Giorgia Foroni (Italy) and Essi Sarja (Finland). Nikitina, Dvortsova, Seckarova and Orobets change place from contest to contest, so there is a big unknown this time also but top emotions are quaranted!
