The very first Slovenian National IFBB competition took place on October 18th in Maribor.* This auspicious event is the result of the drive, energy and focus of two of Slovenia’s most prominent bodybuilding icons – Brigita Brezovac and Zmago Karner.* Brigita is well known as Sloviena’s first and only IFBB Pro Female Bodybuilder with an extremely successful career to her credit including a 3rd place finish at the famous Ms. Olympia contest.* Zmago is also a successful bodybuilder and Brigita’s coach and trainer for over a decade.* Together they coordinated and arranged the entire event including the venue, judging, competitors and sponsors.
Over 300 visitors attended the inaugural event held at the Sport hall Lent and witnessed 38 Slovenian national competitors in 12 different categories of competition.* While all divisions were well represented, the women’s bikini and men’s physique categories attracted the most competitors and kept the 7 Slovenian judges busy.* When not occupied watching and cheering for their favorite competitors, visitors had an opportunity to shop the many booths with the latest training information, fitness fashion and supplements available today.
Given the overall success of this first Slovenian National IFBB competition, Brigita and Zmago are already looking forward to next year, hoping to grow and build an annual Slovenian tradition.
