I don't know why but lately I start to get really shaky mid way into my set.

Is this a diet problem?

Should I back off on the weight I'm lifting or eat more?

I think that you need to hydrate more. Sounds like dehydration. Just drink more water!

Hey Charlie,

Shakiness or tremors could be caused by hypoglycemia. Are you getting in enough carbs preworkout?

Hey. I have this problem before when I started working out a long time ago and the main reason why I'm having this problem is because my muscles aren't well developed yet. Sometimes it has something to do with the lactic acid build up in the muscles, so rest a bit if you feel like your muscles are shaking.

I shake most of the time. I've gotten used to it. I don't even try to find the cause or anything because it's not like it really affects me. It just makes me seem like I'm struggling which I'm not but who cares what people think.

That sounds very dangerous if it is something that is sporadic. I can see a little bit here and there maybe not being a big deal, but outside of that I would say that you might want to have as much precaution as you can. I have just heard some pretty bad horror stories when it comes to exercising and trying to do too much, that I can see this going poorly.

If it is only shaking during working outs then it is an indication of using a resistant that is beyond your muscle strength. It is advisable to gradually build up your weights instead of jumping to higher weights suddenly.

If you shake while resting too ( off workouts) then may be it is time to consult a neurologist.

Yeah, shakiness can be lack of water, so nothing like drinking more to see how it feels. If the problems persists, I would check a doctor, something might be wrong with you.

Shaking muscles is not dangerous! It's a different level of muscle twitch that usually indicates intense work that challenges the neuromuscular system, according to some strength conditioning specialists, it's a good sign as muscles that are hard to target are neurologically weak and tend to shake. In essence, the shaking indicates that you're demanding more from your body than it's normally capable of doing. It's not a bad thing, but you can expect to be sore the next day since you're making tiny microscopic tears in your muscles. As the muscles repair themselves, you'll become stronger. So the more you work on those exercises that make you quiver, the stronger you'll get and the less you'll shake. However, don't push yourself too hard.
