The demonization of testosterone has been in full swing since Barry Bonds broke the single season home run record in Major League Baseball. But what's funny is that during the commercial break of a sporting event, you will in all likelihood see an advertisement for a Low T medication.
Testosterone for sports, bodybuilding and middle-age health comes from the same bottle and whatever stigmas are attached should be left at the clubhouse or gym door. Because having low testosterone levels can be more detrimental to your health than the side effects from using it when it's necessary.
Quick question: what is the number one cause of death? If you guessed cardiac arrest or cancer, you'd be wrong. Believe it or not, it's frailty and the elderly falling down and hurting themselves leads to more deaths than any other cause.
So by staying in shape, you can avoid the injuries that come with the territory. And while it may be impossible to keep your bones as healthy as they were when you were younger, slowing down the aging process with testosterone replacement therapy is a good way to start.
When your natural test levels are low, so is everything else. Energy, libido, endurance, strength...take your pick. When you hit the age of 35, your test levels begin to dip and get worse every year. In your forties, things begin to deteriorate more and more so that is the time in your life where you need to make a decision - get your ass moving in the right direction or let it slowly slip further away.
When you feel good about yourself, the other aspects of life begin to all fall into place. Cleaning up the diet goes hand-in-hand with the exercise and implementing all of these things once you begin TRT accelerates the process.
Doing this under the care of a physician is the way to go and he or she will put you on a program that will make a new man out of you.
