Love the deadlifts! Love to see what you'd max out at.

Some insane work there Sticking heavy squats and deads in the same workout is beyond intense. Plus, at 10:15 that evening....

Yeah, I'm feeling like a ten-year-old-girl. Way to go, Line

Glex - Thanks, changed my password. Here's hoping I win that computer store giftcertificate

Tweak - I really hadn't even thought about hitting 1,000 anytime soon but you're right...it definitely looks in range. As I've mentioned I'm going to try and be as consistent as my schedule permits because I really want to push my strength to its boundaries (and now it looks like I have a new goal).

CJU - Thanks for the kind words on the deadlifts; I really surprised myself to be honest because I wasn't hoping for any more than 4-6 reps

Chesty - Yeah, squatting 455 or 405 for reps is one thing...but with Glenn on my back, yeesh. Not happening

TO - Thanks, bro. I've really been liking the new split and focusing on more compound movements; I can really feel my strength improving. Hopefully we'll see a plethora of more PB's to come.

Tim - I'll probably attempt to do a max sometime soon. I have a weird relationship with deadlifts. I've always been pretty good at them, and my muscular endurance seems to last longer on them than other exercises without sacrifice to my form. I'm not sure I'd be able to pull whatever my projected max would be set up, but I'll certainly be upping my 1RM soon.

One(sorta)bigeric - Yeah, I'm a night person...plus I'm too lazy to go early in the day Glad to see you took a peak and stopped in.

UPDATE: Took yesterday off so Glex and I could get back to our normal schedule of things (I think he ran though seeing how he's a pussy and all). Tonight will be Chest/Shoulders/Tris and I think I might decide to make it a high-rep chest day because it's been quite some time since my last. See you guys later

Hey guys, pretty quick session today. I had to go it alone because I was meeting a friend at 8:30 and Glex was tied up with ROTC stuff. As I mentioned, I decided to go higher on reps for chest, and let me say, I burnt out really fast (and to make it worse did fascia stretching afterwards). No real mind-blowing numbers today, but I felt great coming out of the gym and I'm actually very satisfied with the session despite what the numbers say...plus, I flew through it.

    Date: 2.1.07

    Set #2 - 185 pounds x 15 reps
    Set #3 - 205 pounds x 12 reps

    Shoulders
    Seated Military Press
    Set #1 - 165 pounds x 8 reps
    Set #2 - 175 pounds x 8 reps
    Set #3 - 185 pounds x 6 reps

    DB Side Laterals
    Set #1 - 35 pounds x 10 reps
    Set #2 - 40 pounds x 6 reps

    BB Shrugs
    Set #1 - 275 pounds x 8 reps
    Set #2 - 315 pounds x 8 reps

    Triceps

    Set #2 - 50 pounds x 6 reps
    Set #3 - 45 pounds x 8 reps
    Set #4 - 45 pounds x 8 reps

...that's it for today - short and sweet. Not much else to say. Tomorrow I'm training Legs/Back/Bis with Glex.

Until next time: hit 'em up

That was a great session despite it being decently short. Your bench is really good, you were probably throwin' that weight up pretty easily. Military press is really good, and why only 2 sets of laterals and shrugs? You could of supersetted the military press with the side laterals... then gotten probably 3-4 sets on shrugs... but still every little bit helps. And legs/back/bis will be a tougher day.

Dam man all that in 45 mins is impressive. Big weight for high reps on bench. Heavy shrugs to

Paulie - Good (and fair) questions. To be honest, most people only do 2-3 true working sets anyways, the rest is just a buildup; usually placing too much emphasis on pyramiding. I'd rather be able to press heavier weight on something like a military press than worry about volume for an isolation movement (lateral raises) because I'm not going to get as much out of it. As for shrugs, it's a combination of using heavier weight right away, deadlifting twice a week, and having genetically gifted traps. Glad you posted

Hypo - I was actually really upset at my 205 x 12. I was pretty burnt out already from doing 35 reps in my first two sets and not being used to higher rep ranges. As for your rotator cuff, I'd steer clear of the Smith Machine and focus more on DB work. I can't imagine the sheer force from a BB is worse than a Smith. Just my $.02.

Chesty - Thanks, I really had to rush through...I'll explain why at the bottom

    No Simpsons quote

onebigeric - Yeah, it felt good to get in and out pretty quick and I think that's part of what made the session satisfying. I was fortunate enough to get on the equipment I wanted which helped as well. Also, you should check back a page at my last legs/back session

UPDATE: After I ran through my session last night I went back to my apartment, had two pw meals and went to the bar down the street. They were hosting a beer pong tournament and my roommate and I won the whole thing which got us T-Shirts and a $50 gift card. Just thought I'd share that tale to all those alcohol-haters out there who said drinking would never get me anywhere

well fuck me sideways and call me Chesticles.

good bench, less then usual but impressive amount of reps you threw around.

militaries are impressive considering you hit a high amount of reps on bench and exhausted your front delts quite a bit. Laterals are great, and shrugs are great too. I still hate you for having genetically gifted traps though...bitch

    great work, and stay consistent

btw...slap Emerson on the ass for me next time you see him

The biggest difference between you and me is you're you, and I'm me. I always win. Sorry bro.

Oh, I have. That's where my feel-like-a-ten-year-old-girl comment came from

Look forward to seeing some more insane work from ya, Line.
