Pickle: Yep that is the goal. Hopefully I haven't reached gutlessness on the squat though.

Freako: lol. The weights landed on the stone pavers, not me. I jumped backwards when I lost the weight overhead, but because I was in the deep squat position I landed on my arse. Barbell pretty much went straight up and down. Now I need a new platform

    PV:

I though today was going to suck because of the two long work days I have put it. Surprisingly things went quite well, just needed to practice each exercise otherwise I'd cramp (chest in dips) or lose the groove (chins, behind the neck jerks).

    Warmups

    Standing overhead press
    20kg x10
    40kg x5

    45kg x5
    52.5kg x5
    57.5kg x9

    Behind the neck jerk
    65kg x8 2 sets

Chinups - should have been pullups, oh well.
    20kg x10
    20kg x6 2 sets
    20kg x4 2 sets

    Dips
    30kg x10 2 sets

    Wrist curls
    25kg x15 pronated 2 sets
    25kg x20 supinated 2 sets

    Soundtrack:

How come your overhead press weight is so low? I would have guessed you'd be lifting a bit more than me hehe

She really looks like someone set her face on fire and put it out with a bike chain.

solid session tim good effort on the extra reps on OHP and those pullups are looking mighty fine i must say.

I thank whatever gods may be
    For my unconquerable soul.

In the fell clutch of circumstance
I have not winced nor cried aloud.
    Under the bludgeonings of chance
My head is bloody, but unbowed.

It matters not how strait the gate,
How charged with punishments the scroll,
    I am the master of my fate;
I am the captain of my soul.

    Jono: thanks dude.

Skippy: I used to do a seated DB OH press of 50kg x2 DB's. At the time I didn't bench and just did that and dips. Since then I haven't really pushed the overhead stuff as much. I basically haven't done anything remotely heavy in 4-5yrs, including periods of no shoulder work at all. So just give it time. Plus I haven't traditionally done shoulder work standing, so basically a new thing for me.

Bulky: I messed up and did chinups instead of pullups. I don't know that it made a big difference, but it may have done.

Freako: Screw you for being better than me!!! Give me time. That 50kg x10 is still 5kg shy of my PB, not that I have done that recently.....

Anabolicus: Fratenising with the enemy :bball:

Ok I'm drunk and was having a glass of wine on the patio. I was staring at my DB's and thinking "Why not". So I grabbed them and did this just to see what I can do, when battling to stand straight, let alone press overhead.

Dumbbell Standing clean and press (single arm)
    32kg x2 both arms
    40kg x1 both arms
40kg x1 right arm, fail left.

Interesting, considering my OH max with a barbell is supposedly less than this.

PV: drunk with no warmup. Don't count your chickens too soon!

Pickle: seemed like a good idea at the time.

Freako: you mean benching a chick? Yep. They don't seem to like it though, something about it being degrading :dunnodude:

Deadlift day went better than I thought it would. Bit uninspired but I still knocked out a good few sets. Technically 5kg better than last cycle, based on the rep max calc (215kg).

    C&J
    40kg x2
    60kg x2
    80kg x2
    90kg x2
    100kg x2

(I should include the deadlift walk of 100kg for 15m, as it killed my grip)

    Deadlift
    110kg x5
    122.5kg x5
    142.5kg x5
160kg x10 - this was good, could have had more if I wasn't seeing stars.

    Step-up
    20kg x20 2 sets

    supersetted with

    SL hammy curl
    20kg x15 2 sets

    Soundtrack:

If only these guys had nothing connecting them to Nickelback.mgwtf:" class="inlineimg" />

Solid deadlift, do you use dead reps or touch and go?

^^ dead reps. I touch and go on some reps but I try not to as bouncing starts to come in too easily.

I do my dead reps by resetting the grip every rep or two. When I have my belt on I tend to stand up between every second or third rep, so that I can get a proper breathe in.
