    another good read Tim....so where are these awful pics...the hold on the chins is where its at i always squeeze real hard at the top and take it extra slow on the way down especially the last few reps just to get that burn.

    Something amazing did happen Tim! You got your arse into gear and came away with a lot of positives. The rows were better, the intensity was higher because your rest periods were shorter, super slow chins, as well as control over your movements.

    I say, to hell with the negatives. There's always another day to turn those negatives into positives. Keep fighting for the cause mate.

    Evo's right! Even if there's only 1 positive and that you got in (or out) there and did it then that's all you need!

    Hadn't thought of it that way, cheers guys!

    I suppose that highlights my mindset at the moment, just a little down with all the stress. Of course where most postgrads turn to alcohol and get a fat ass (what is actually termed "writing up ass", no joke) I'm still hitting the weights. There's another positive!

    The photos I'll post after I've taken some comparison shots of my legs. I've got the old post op knee photo on my webpage, I'll take a similar shot either today or tomorrow. To give you and idea I've gained about 3 inches on my good leg and best part of 5 on the injured. Though this isn't half of it because the leg was flabby to the point you couldn't see the muscle tense at all, so a lot of muscle has been added onto them.

    No. She doesn't like the idea of me taking the sort of photos you mean Jorn! Let alone posting them on the web.

    I'll take the pics this arvo and post either later today or tomorrow.

    This shold be me talking about my deadlift and bulgarian squat day. Nuts to that. I've spent enough time writing recently.

    Here are my legs two weeks after surgery:
    Tim's Journeyman Log
    Here are my legs one year on:
    Tim's Journeyman Log
    Basically the post-surgery photo has my left leg at roughly 23 inch with 15 inch calves. These are rough measures as I didn't measure them at the same time as the photo and I continued to lose muscle and size. The right leg you couldn't actually see the muscle tense due to the amount of atrophy.

    In the new photo my legs are 25.5 inch thigh, 16.5 inch calf. The thighs are roughly the same size, but the main difference is at the VMO where there is a half inch difference. My legs prior to injury were 26 inch.

    The only thing you can't see is the rain in those pics.

    Stuff I have;
    Power rack dad and I built.
    Bench from trading magazine, that was strengthened, came with chrome standard bar.
    Black standard plates 140kg.
    Black dumbbell plates and spin lock collar dumbbells, my first weights ~50kg. They'd be 15 yrs old!
    Blue standard plates 43kg, found on verge rubbish collection day, when walking the dog.
    Thick handle 2 inch (for rows and wrist), two thick handles with rope 2.5 inch.
    Loading chains, rope, skipping rope, spring collars.
    180kg Olympic bar and weights.

    I want (and will probably make);
    Two or three kegs of various weights.
    Adjustable box.
    Cable row/tree.
    Plate loaded gripper.
    Proper weight tree.
