once in a while i'd buy expired protein just because of the price cut down... instead of paying around $50 for a 5.5 lbs bucket, they'd lower to about $15 if its expired......i'm wondering what you guys think, and if its really a big deal if its expired..... and is there a certain amount of time after the expiration date that i shouldnt purchase... thanx

i think the rule of thumb is that the product must last 1 yr after the label says it expires.. i heard this straight from a pharmacist, but dont quote me on that.. he might be wrong, worse comes to worse ull just have crazy gas if the stuff is bad.

dont worry about it mate, keep taking it, i'd do the same thing if there was a tub of protein of sale due to expired date on it, i'd buy it still, i also herd aswel, the protein will still be good for 3 months to 1 year after it has reached its expiry date.

regarding to your second question, i reckon there wont be any different/ changes with the protein quality at all.

enjoy it bro, goos money saver aswel

The protein will degrade slightly but it will be really negligible. Food safety standards mean that any sealed product will remain fresh as long as the product is not exposed to heat or rapid temp changes. Once it is opne it will degrade quicker but once again dry goods are usually required to last a long time (3 months to 1 year seems about right) after opening.

Think of it like instant coffee.
