Tony, cut the crap. My mom is an elementary teacher, she's worked long and hard for over 20 years, and makes absolutely nothing near that. Nobody thinks that just because someone doesn't make 6 figures a year that they're lazy.

i think tonys comment was in regards to obamas tax policy, thicknasty is suggesting people will have their money taken away, when really only the super wealthy will be taxed more, the rest will get a tax cut.

thicknasty, after 8 years of the most hated administration in US history i dont think americans are stupid enough to fall for that republican crap again. bushs economic policy have been the worst we have ever seen. it cant get any worse than it already is. also, know that your candidate, who have recently accused obama of being a socialist not to long ago took the exact same position himself. strange how now, suddenly, obama is a socialist for saying something mccain himself stood for awhile back:dunnodude:

It's called satire, and you've made lots of posts before suggesting such, and claimed I implied all those who make 250+ a year did so through scratching and clawing, and such, obviously not true.

But the point remains, there are many people who don't do anything, and reap the rewards of other people's success. Again, my mother is a teacher, she makes 50,000 a year, if that. But the point is, she worked hard, went to school, got a masters, and now she has a career that doesn't make much money, but she's more than able to take care for herself.

1) I hate McCain, he is not a true conservative at all, and the neo-cons aren't either, so I won't deny that has been a disaster. But Obama's economic policy is worse, the guy wants to spend like a drunken sailor (I know McCain says this, but it's true). But worst of all, he doesn't even address the national debt whatsoever!!

You give too much credit to the majority of the American people, they were fooled with Bush's campaigning in 2000, fooled with Iraq's weapons, and now they're fooled with Obama's "change".

All I know is that if I wanted to be lazy, quite my career, have a kid, I would have more free money then I do now. Between section 8, food stamps, and everything else they give away its insane. I just wish there was a way that we could give it to the people that truely need it and not to a everyone that wants it.

obamas economic policy is in no way whatsoever worse than mccains, mccains economic policy is a continuation of bushs, in that he hands out more tax breaks to the very wealthy. and we have seen what that has led to. pre bush period and pre bush tax cuts, during clinton. the debt was 5 trillion, it has doubled to over 10 trillion, inequality has been rising dramatically and the budget deficit is larger than ever. during clinton the budget was balanced. imo democrats just have a better economic record than republicans. the current bush administration has spent more than ever and at the same time lowered taxes. atleast obama makes clear where he will get the money from.

i remember reading somewhere, that with obamas tax plan the budget will be balanced by 2013 or something, while with mccains new additional tax cuts of over 600 billion dollars, the deficit will keep rising. that seems to be the problem with the republicans. they want to spend, but they dont want to pay for it.

No tony... this is NOT what I meant, I know you don't think this.

What i meant was that you imply that people like me think that those who make under 250,k are lazy... I don't think this at all, and neither do most.

It's just a satire picture with truth to it, because those who are lazy and do nothing will benefit from handouts.

Ok I was thinking you meant it this way but with the way you quoted me and worte it meant the way I thought :tiphat:

Question: If your mom is one of these people only making 50,000 and works so hard then why are you so against her getting a tax break?

I completely agree with you that the Neo-con republicans want to spend, and won't tax to do so. That is inarguable. I guess we're talking about this all in theory, since neither will do what needs to be done, and that is cut spending.

There is absolutely no way Obama, who wants to increase government spending by over $300 billion per year (and that as a baseline, it'll almost certainly be higher in actuality) can balance the budget.

Ok I was thinking you meant it this way but with the way you quoted me and worte it meant the way I thought :tiphat:

No worries, I could have prob been clearer, though I thought I was.

I'm against it because 1) I'd be highly suspect that Obama's proposals will actually play out. Based on his record, and his proposed massive increases in overall spending, I don't see how this can happen.

2) Because she doesn't deserve any special treatment over others.
