Just when you thought you couldn't be surprised anymore with the idiocy of the human race, an Obama supporter pops up and proves you wrong.

really now? I was unaware of this, in that case....

this actually doesn't surprise me anymore.

James, if you could, can you post an article regarding Obamas stance on Military whether it be supporting us, down sizing, etc. etc. Anything will suffice, appreciate it.

I don't have an article, but I'm pretty sure it will stay exactly the same with one small exception. He'll move some troops from Iraq to Afghanistan.

What she said might not be true but its not exactly dumb if your not deaf....

She says: "I dont have to WORRY about putting gas in my car.... worry about paying my mortagage"..

Most probally meaning she thinks Obama will do a better job than McCain in dealing with the economic crisis, so she wont have to worry so much about the costs of Gas or or paying the Mortagage.

LOL @ the idoit who made that video with the comments.

You're giving her too much credit, this women is a moron, plain and simply. She thinks a president will be able to lower gas prices and her mortgage, when they can't.

LOL @ the idiot who supports Obama. I think tomorrow I am gonna take a large portion of my paycheck, go to the bank and get it all in single dollar bills and random change. Then I will just walk around and start handing it out to people who look more poorer than I am. Why should we wait for our government to enact Socialism, lets cut out the middle man and just get to it! Viva La Revolution!

Yea but it just seemed with the thread title you didn't hear what she said. So just pointing out as i think a lot of people seemed to think she said she wont have to work. Her comments arn't that bad, like i said above its not true but not the dumbest thing.

Not as bad as the audio clip posted with Obama supporters being interviewed and what they thought about Sarah Palin being V.P if Obama wins. Or the McCain white supremists.

ignorance is bliss.

before u dismiss obama and his ideas, let him first get a chance to prove himself. it cant get any worse than it has been for the last 8 years can it? or is that what u want? 4 more years of failed supply side economics, destroying the middle class, increasing debt and making the richest of the rich even wealthier. obamas proposals is not socialism, its common sense. the rich wont pay more under obama then they did during reagan. was it socialism in the US during reagan now? dont u understand what path ur country has chosen, dont u understand that the political problems ur country is facing requires a new way, instead of more of the exact same policy? dont dismiss obama, i believe he is gonna make a great president, and i believe that with his leadership, america have better days ahead of her.

I really don't like getting involved with debates in this section any more but I'm just kind of confused with this statement. Are you saying, that we shouldn't dismiss our candidates beliefs until they are given a chance? That kind of defeats the whole purpose of educating ourselves (even though most don't) on a candidate and his views, yes? Saying a certain person needs to be given a "chance" to change a crumbling country is quite a risk if you ask me.

On a side note: I feel pretty confident that Obama will further hurt this country; but just in a different manner.

obviously everyone should vote for the person they truly think will do the best job leading the nation. but dismissing a candidate like dcuts did, because hes a "commie" is ignorant to say the least, and since i dont expect him to listen to any rational arguments about why he should vote obama over mccain 2 days before the election i just said said lets see what happends, i think obama is gonna do a great job. and i know it will be better than during the last 8 years. so lets just see.

Your life must be very blissful then.

Its a recession. We have them about every 12 years. Its part of having a county. However, in giving Obama a chance. No. I wouldn't give a rapist a chance with a 3 year old girl. I wouldn't give Iran a chance with nuclear weapons. I wouldn't give Obama a chance with my paycheck. Why allow someone who is determined to erase the class system a chance with my class? I like being middle class. I agree there are those of us who struggle, but Ill be damned if I am gonna have my taxes increase, or my bosses taxes increase so it can go directly into tax cuts for people who pay less taxes in the first place. I work hard for what I have. Rich people work hard for what they have. We pay our share. We are taxed higher in this generation then any other generation ever. If the democratic congress could get something accomplished and stop being so damn fruitful in their pork barrel spending, we might have some money to go around. You have to remember, the president has much just as much to do with the economy then the congress we all elected. Right now the 18% approval rated democratic congress is just as responsible, if not more then the president. The economy is suffering from a housing bubble burst, a technology flat line and a overseas boom. These were all foreseen economic disasters that clinton did nothing about. That the republican congress did nothing about. Bush did nothing, the democratic congress did nothing. Now were fucked for a while. Oh well, it happens. But electing a liberal radical into office with a democratic congress...yeah right... no checks... no balances.. It would be free reign and Obama would be the Communist Leader of the New Combined States of Obama-erica.

^^ There is really nothing to add on top of that post, DCuts hit the nail on the head. Look at all the ultra liberal/socialized nations in Europe. Your taxes are so damn high that it is a monumental monetary burden just to by a little Honda car. If anything I think Europe's executions and IMO failure of many of Obama's proposed policies should be a sign not to allow them to be put in place. Too many lazy people want the government to do or help with with everything instead of working for what they have. I am sorry but that just goes against everything I believe in.

Good posts DCuts and Braaq, (though I dislike DCuts' comments about Iran and nuclear weapons, implying they'd be a threat to America, but we won't go there in this thread).

One other thing I'd like to add is the incentive for someone to work and contribute. If someone knows that they will be taken care of from cradle to grave, there's no incentive to really work hard, contribute, and innovate. Look at job shortages. How many more doctors and teachers do we need? Thousands, and if people worked for it, they could do it.

While I support Ron Paul and agree with many said comments about Obama, the above quote isn't the best argument against socialism. It's the kind of argument I might have made in the past.

The entire "if people worked hard, they could do it" is a little bit too much Horatio Alger. Many people struggle to make a living working 2-3 jobs, can't afford to get college loans, or are in no position to advance academically because of shitty public education. I'm no socialist, but a little socialism, done correctly can be beneficial.

Of course, I think the chick in the video has her up her ass, like most Obama supporters.

Eh, I suppose that would vary depending on the area you live in. Some young kids have actually said, "I wana be like my daddy. He gets a check every month and doesn't do anything." I'd say parenting would have more to do with people working hard for goals than socialism, though.

^^ I think the two above arguments are examples of how many different variables there are in society so there is no one right way. There are lazy people, there are hard working people who with multiple jobs cannot make ends meat, there are those who work hard and get buy, the more fortunate, etc.

That's a good point. Too many people already use the government as a crutch to lean on wanting them to put food on their table through our tax money instead or working for themselves. It's like throwing gas on the laziness fire.
