Capitalism is evil........ WOW. I'm prepared for another polemic as I'm always ready to listen to a fat hippocrite.

Not that there isn't problems with any system and you do need to have the lunatic fringe to point it out on occassion, but there is also pushing an agenda too far.

Michael Moore might be an assclown, but millions of people pay to see his films and feel "enlightened" after seeing them.

point being, the real morons are the people who support Moore.

He says that because he never lived in a socialist country.

Sicko was distorted garbage. Sanjay Goupta (sp?) debated Moore on CNN, and owned him, though the only decent argument that Moore made was that there could be more money to spend on health care if it wasn't wasted on wars.

Just don't ask Bulkboy.

no, it's not fine.

government interference has been detrimental to healthcare in the US.

''Freedom without Socialism is privilege and injustice. Socialism without freedom is slavery and brutality.''

point being, we need both capitalism and socialism to some extent. socialism taken to the extreme doesent work and capitalism taken to the extreme does not work either. if u look at the most successful countries in the world by almost any standard (Canada, Norway, Sweden etc) these are all countries with a balanced mix of capitalism and socialism. the social democratic model is the best we have imo. a model that allows the individual freedom to pursue his dreams and make a good living for himself, while at the same time realizing that a society should be measured much by how it treats it's worst off citizens.

offc, u can debate to which extent the government is to be involved, but i think most people agree we need the government to be involved in key areas, where profit shouldnt be the main consern.

critizising certain aspects of capitalism does not mean u completely reject it.

If there were no regulations then why would companies even care? i mean at the end of the day a company is in the business its in to make money and the most profit it can for the dear shareholders...corporate governance is always needed.

No govt regulation = more competition = more incentive among corporations to produce better products and services = better and cheaper health care for the consumer

Unless you have an oligopoly or consortium or cartel form........ :bitelip:

Small players that fill niches are usually what occurs, and these are the most volitile. I'm sure that it is a terrific idea to open up health to volitility.

No regulations or governance would be chaos. For example the only phone company would be verizon in America and we would all get rapped. Took regulation to finally start competitive practices there.

What about cable companies and all the issues that caused in the past with no regulation.

Libraries, elementary to highschool, 911 would be ran by corporations and would cost us the consumers money other than just the small taxes we pay for those services.

Would you like to pay monthly fees to have the service of firemen in case your house caught on fire?

lets just wait till the natural resources these countries sleep on runs out and then we'll see how the government will help all its citizens and pay its bills.

This sounds great on paper. Human nature will interfere. You guys are just as delusional as those who think communism is achievable.

sigh

what enormeous natural resources does sweden sleep on may i ask?

alot of countries have enormeous resources(saudi arabia, china, russia) that doesent automatically make them prosperous and successful. its a question of prioritizing and political will.
