After settling in, will we see some fireworks in Week 5?
Here’s a look at strikers you can expect to find the back of the net at least once—if not multiple times—this weekend.
Romelu Lukaku, Everton at West Ham
Getting loaned from Chelsea to Everton was not only a good thing for Romelu Lukaku’s career, it’s great for fantasy football enthusiasts, too. Buried on the depth chart behind Fernando Torres, Demba Ba and Samuel Eto’o, Lukakau didn’t have much value. At Everton, he can be a star some weeks.
Against West Ham in Week 5 is one of those chances.
The forward was a sensation last year in the Premier League, finishing sixth among all players with 17 goals during his loan spell at West Brom. If Everton plans on scoring against a West Ham side that’s allowed just one goal to date, it’ll be Lukaku who gets it done.
Daniel Sturridge, Liverpool vs. Southampton
If you’re looking for a solid performer and haven’t bought into Liverpool’s Daniel Sturridge yet, what are you waiting for? Through 21 appearances with the Reds since hopping aboard, Sturridge has found the back of the net a whopping 17 times.
Four of those 17 goals have come in each of the side’s first four fixtures this season.
With a favorable matchup against Southampton within the confines of Anfield, there’s a great chance he’ll continue that streak, if not double-up on the net in Week 5.
Olivier Giroud, Arsenal vs. Stoke City
Olivier Giroud has been another phenomenal performer to this point in the young season and figures to have another strong showing at Emirates Stadium this weekend.
After the trade deadline, German sensation Mesut Ozil got onto the pitch for the Gunners in Week 4, but after training with the club for another week he could be an even bigger difference-maker for the Premier League contenders.
In his debut, Ozil found Giroud with a beautiful assist to give him his fourth goal in four games. Expect the two dynamic stars to connect at least once to find the back of Stoke City’s goal this weekend.
