I'd like to start by saying I became a big fan of Jay over the last years. He is a great champion and ambassador of bodybuilding, and I was glad to hear he will compete one more time at the O. Judging by his preview pics before the big show, I thought he might gonna have a real chance at coming in like in 2009 and regain his title. But as you all know, and as we saw on the webcast, judging from the callouts and the placements on stage, I'd say Jay is gonna take the 5th place more than getting a 5th title.

Respect for working so hard and actually being competitive Jay, and I wish you all the best!

Here are a few pics from last night's prejudging at the 2013 Mr Olympia:

Im with you, I had high hopes for him but yesterday at the athletes meeting he didn't look quite confident neither in the pre-judging... just take a look at him and you can realize why.

He was my inspiration to start in the bbding world, and I still watch his videos and so to get inspiration, but I think he is over. He achieved a lot, he lost and came back, but he cant fight against age and injuries.
His right shoulder seems to be troubling him in the FLS and BLS poses, and his left lat is kind of getting atrophied. Legs are there but they don't glow anymore. His trademark crab most moscular pose is gone, probable because of the lack of muscle to display it properly.
This morning, I have been watching his 2006 and 2009 victories... those were the years (2009 for conditioning, 2006 for size) He is nowhere close and I dont't think he can make it next year.
I dont get inspired by anyone of the new guys, but still, I dont want Jay to get embarrased getting low places. If he places higer than 3rd, we can talk about some better competitors getting robbed.

Its painful to see Jay overpowered in a MM pose.
Look at Kai's striations, controlled waist, how wide he looks compared to Jay who was wide as a fucking house.

Jay's lost a lot of size, anyway, he does still look very very good in the side poses and in the back double bi. He should probably try to win his 4th ASC and retire on a high!

Good writeup tkD.
Jay did us all proud... Even with this error in approach to his return he still managed a physique that was very respectable. If he had gained his usual off season weight and kept it on for a Year before dieting down, he would have kicked ass... but as it is he tried to gain muscle & lose fat both at the same time in 6 months.... such an amateure BBers thing to do :rolleyes: Anyways he looked great and got beat by a handful of guys who were better than him on the day! Kudos to Jay for giving it a try!

Thank you!

What he did in that lineup was an amazing job by itself. Hell, to be in that 10th place is a great achievement!

6th place

And you were right! haha.
