Austrian Federation President Dr. Wolfgang Schober was really happy after this year’s record-breaking International Austria Cup. On 28th of September the Haus der Begegnung in Vienna almost bursted at its seams. 225 competitors from 9 countries:
- Austria
- Croatia
- Czech Republic
- Germany
- Hungary
- Slovenia
- Slovakia
- Sweden
- Switzerland
met there to battle for the medals. The Overall Titles went to well known and successful international competitors such as Andrea Lackner (AUT) in the Bikini Fitness Classes, Tomas Tabaciar (SK) in the Bodybuilding Classes and Harald Schober (AUT) in the Classic Bodybuilding Classes. With pleasure, the organisers noticed 16 (!) athletes in the open Juniors Bodybuilding Class that a phenomenal Fabian Mayr (AUT) won. Gorgeous in the Bodyfitness Class Slovakia´s reigning World Champion Adela Ondrejovicova.
- „That enormous number of competitors shows up the growing popularity of our sport in the heart of Europe. I thank all nations that have sent their athletes, my volunteers who certainly have reached their limits by giving their best to organise backstage work, the spectators that conjured a great atmosphere into the venue site. And last but not least I thank all the athletes for their performance and staying calm during times of waiting for the stage. It is great to be in the IFBB-Family!“ – said a lucky, but really tired Dr. Wolfgang Schober after the event that ended after midnight.
