Kai Greene 2015

The professional sport of Bodybuilding is a grueling sport that requires the utmost dedication and perseverance. Women and men across the globe have always had a fascination with sculpting the perfect physique. The International Federation of Bodybuilding and Fitness is an organization that hosts many elite competitions. These demanding competitions produce only the top bodybuilding champions in the world. However, one particular competition has become the most notable over the years. That competition is the battle for the coveted title of Mr. Olympia.

This prestigious competition has named past world champions such as Arnold Schwarzenegger, Jay Cutler, Dexter Jackson and Phil Heath. As the men wage war against one another inside the gymnasium, each competing individual has the iconic Sandow trophy in their sights. The Sandow trophy is considered the greatest prize to win in bodybuilding, sanctifying a recipient as the best competitor in the world.

Over the past few years, 2012 through 2014, an epic battle has unfolded between two incredibly powerful competitors. Phil Heath (the current champion) and Kai Greene dominated the sport and stood toe to toe at the Mr. Olympia Championships. While second place is an extraordinary title to hold in the world of bodybuilding, Kai Greene couldn’t be satisfied with his ‘second best’ performance. Despite Kai Greene’s brutal training routine and steadfast determination, Phil Heath remained the victor in these battles of the champions.

One question remains at the top of every bodybuilding enthusiast’s mind, will Kai Greene be competing in the 2016 Mr. Olympia competition? Many followers of the competition have grown to embrace Kai Greene as their favorite competitor. Over the years, he has become the fan favorite by displaying an unwavering dedication to the sport. Almost everybody wants to watch him receive the Mr. Olympia title in 2016 but many aren’t sure if he will compete at all.

Because fan favorite Kai Greene didn’t compete in the 2015 Mr. Olympia competition, many speculate that he will never make the final stage ever again. When interviewed by a renowned bodybuilding news reporter via social media, Kai Greene’s response was non-definitive at best. His uncertain response only creates more questions rather than answer just one. Most enthusiasts state that his presence in the 2016 Mr. Olympia would make it the greatest championship competition of all time.

But why would Kai Greene, a professional bodybuilder with all the winning tools, refrain from competing in 2016s ultimate showdown? Anonymous insiders, comprised of fellow gym members who wish to remain unmentioned, have announced that Kai Greene may be distracted. Throughout 2015, he had been involved with a frivolous lawsuit that may have carried consequences into the next year. Beyond the legal issues he had been trying to resolve, acquaintances state that he may be growing weary of the sport. Some insiders report that he is suffering from many of the negative consequences that professional bodybuilding will inevitably cause. The common injuries associated with the sport include joint pains, liver failure, heart problems, high blood pressure, severed tendons/ligaments, pulled muscles and loss of flexibility. While Kai Greene hasn’t officially commented on any of these ailments, they may be some of the causes that prevent him from attending the 2016 Mr. Olympia as a competitor.

In the past, another aspect of bodybuilding that has prevented competitors from ever competing again are the negative psychological problems many experience. Body dysmorphia is a common mental illness that plenty of bodybuilders admit to having. This condition can lead to the unhealthy struggles associated with bulimia. A person must understand that bodybuilding professionals undergo rigorous exercise routines and often exclude themselves from necessary indulgences. Some bodybuilders are so dehydrated that they pass out after the shows are finished. Over time, the psychological ramifications can negatively affect a competitor’s quality of life.

Many retired champions admit that they do miss the sport but that they do not miss the commitment involved. Most claim that post-competition depression, regardless of being victorious or not, can lead to extended periods of self-disdain.

It’s true that nobody can remain on the top forever but they can leave their professional footprint in the sands of time. Kai Greene’s second place endeavors have undoubtedly placed him among the best in the world but it’s unlikely he’ll ever hold the coveted title of Mr. Olympia. Fans will be distraught if he doesn’t compete in the 2016 showdown. His unique showmanship and incredible agility has always made him a sight to behold. Crowds have been known to chant his name when he moved onto the stage.

Friends and family members of Kai Greene have commented on his steadfast determination. His dedication to the sport has made him an unforgettable character within the world of bodybuilding. Still, fans in the year of 2015 were disappointed by his absence and they may be equally disappointed during the 2016 Mr. Olympia Competition.

World Champion Phil Heath has admitted that Kai Greene’s competitive level has forced him to adapt to heightened degrees of training, attributing his success to Kai Greene’s tenacity. When the ultimate champion is speaking highly of his number one opponent it’s no reason that enthusiasts are going to be upset if Kai doesn’t compete.

Phil heath Vs Kai Greene

Many expect to witness Greene’s absence at the 2016 Mr. Olympia as it is rare to see a competitor miss one year and return the next. Kai Greene hasn’t entirely stopped competing so there is still hope for his return on the stage floor. The world wants to know for sure, will Kai Greene be competing in the Mr. Olympia showdown?

I think the competition needs him, it needs a good rivalry at the top.
