Independence Day, a feel good movie

A science fiction movie that thrilled the world with the fight of mankind against unknown forces which is presumably aliens. From the indications, earth will be destroyed and humans have to defend themselves with their own devices. And what a coincidence because the annihilation of the planet is timed with Independence Day, July the fourth. Again, it showed the resilience of man and the persistence of America to protect the world.

Well I guess I missed what would be the best time to watch the movie by a couple of days, but yes it is a good one. I have not seen the second and am not too excited to in the first place. I think that the lack of Will Smith makes it a little less appealing, for me at least.
