Carl Lewis – a legend in athletics

Winning Olympic golds has been the habit of Carl Lewis that he had collected a total of 9 gold medals and 1 silver for sprint and long jump. Aside from that, he also won 8 golds in Athleticcs World Championships. Some of his awards are World Athlete of the Century" by the International Association of Athletics Federations and "Sportsman of the Century" by the International Olympic Committee, "Olympian of the Century" by Sports Illustrated and "Athlete of the Year" by Track & Field News in 1982, 1983, and 1984.

Makes me kind of wish that the Olympics were a little more relevant today. It seems like they get the hype when they are here and all of that, but it only lasts for so long and I think people just do not put as much into it as they once did. Maybe that is just me, though.
