Luke Campbell engaged WBA and WBC lightweight champion Jorge Linares to a fistfight. But Campbell’s effort fell a bit short when the Venezuelan won by split decision to retain his championship belts. It was the knockdown in the second round that spelled the difference when Linares hit Campbell with a straight right that sent the British champion to the canvas. Linares improved his record to 43-3 while Campbell fell to 17-2.
