Playing the role of Regan, The Exorcist is the crowning glory of Linda Blair. It was reputedly the most profitable horror movie of that era. The story is based on real accounts although we assume that more than half is fiction. The depiction of possession by evil spirits of the young girl is the trademark of the movie. Others in the cast are Ellen Burstyn as the mother of Regan and the priest Damien Karras played by Jason Miller.

I consider myself a fan of scary movies, but sometimes the religious aspects of them drive me away a little bit. I am not sure why, but I just prefer the crazy maniacs or science experiments gone wrong versus devil stuff.
