    This morning I ate a heart home-made continental breakfast: half fried daing na bangus, fried rice with turmeric, sunny side up, and tea. I usually drink coffee but I bought an excellent herbal tea with hibiscus and raspberry that really tastes so good with honey. It's mangosteen season and lanzones so these are my fruits. Thank God for the good food on the table, always.

    I'm wondering why this post doesn't get any comments but many views. I mean it's as simple as virtually sharing the food you ate today and that's it. Anyways, this morning just had a sandwich made by my wifey and some noodles sa snacks. I wasn't able to eat a full breakfast because of my hectic schedule.

    Today I had tinolang manok with the usual sayote and ginger as the veggies. I told my wife that this Filipino dish has a lot of history to it like in the novel Noli Me Tangere written by Filipino National hero JP Rizal, during a banquet the guests were served tinola and the various chicken parts. Unfortunately for one Filipino he was served the neck part which was the least meaty part of the dish. Funny but sometimes even during an ordinary meal extraordinary things can come up adding flavor to the food and the eating as well.

    I'd like to share the food that I ate this morning called La Paz Batchoy. It's a native noodle dish from Iloilo actually and it has raw egg, some thin slices of pork, chicharon, innards, fried garlic, among others. I thing that I like about this soup is that it smells like an Ilokano dish, pungent in both smell and taste, but you get to like it anyway. Its taste is not as clean as other soups but the odor makes you devour it like it was really something.

    This morning I ate a Filipino food called longaniza which is similar to sausages in the west. Some bit of caution though for longaniza eaters and even hotdogs because these foodies have a lot of preservatives to it and cannot be taken on a daily basis or part of ones staple food. Last night I devoured a quarter pounder local burger at one of the food stalls in our place and it was a whopper. Be advised that home made burgers are the best because they are freshly cooked, better than burgers sold in fastfoods that are loaded with preservatives again.

    Last Friday I gobbled a big burger during dinner and on saturday ate meat again and yesterday evening ate pizza for dinner. All these foods for me are fancy. But this morning I started eating veggies again and just like in the previous weeks I'll eat more of these greeny things until the weekend. Why is that when we eat meat we feel good during the eating but feel heavy after; but when we eat our veggies, we feel just right, in fact not really satiated, but afterwards we feel light and good. Different foods ahave different chemistries actually .

    All I had for breakfast today was rice porridge with a hard-boiled egg on top. What I was hoping for was white pasta, but my mom said they run out from the store. Oh well, maybe tomorrow.
