On July 27, Kevin Belingon of the Philippines will try to make history. He will be the 5th Filipino to hold a title in One Championship if he wins over Martin Nguyen. The first 4 to hold a championship belts are heavyweight Brandon Vera, lightweight Eduard Folayang, Honorio Banario and Geje Eustaquio. The fight will be held in Mall of Asia Arena. Belingon has a fight record of 18-5.

I'm rooting for Belingon but I think
he needs to strengthen up his blows, he needs more power and speed to win against Martin Nguyen whose an all around specialist with devastating ground and pound as well as submission game.

I had seen one fight of Belingon and if I remember correctly, he was weak on the ground and he had lost steam in the 3rd round. Maybe he should change his training and also his style of fighting to be strong on the ground. Nguyen is quick and if he is in good condition then I guess Belingon will have a hard time. But let us see what the 2 fighters will give us on the fight night.

I can't believe this fight is on the same day as the Renzo Vs Yuki one. I feel like history will still be made, no matter the results between Belingon and Nguyen bout. If Nguyen wins, he becomes the the first three-division world champion. For Belingon, it is all about becoming the World champion.

I admire them both they are both knock out specialist so I think it can go either way if who will land the first solid punch (or kick).

The fight went the unexpected way because favorite Martin Nguyen was not able to put the fight on the ground. He was unsuccessful with his countless takedown attempts because it seems that Belingon had prepared for it. With the damage that Belingon's kicks had done to the leg of Nguyen, that may have slowed him down to be a sitting target for Belingon's heavy punches. It was Belingon all the way, from 1st to 5th round and the unanimous decision was unquestionable. By the way, the fight was for the INTERIM Bantamweight title of One FC. The current champion Bibiano Fernandes has an injury but will soon have to face Belingon.

Belingon sure did deserve the win. It looks like the strategy he had in place worked out for him.

Belingon really inflicted some damage on Nguyen. I do agree the leg thing was the major reason why Nguyen lost this fight.
