Boxers in Thailand are trained early and given real fights. Doctor disagree with the system because those children fighters may suffer permanent physical damage particularly to the brain. The proposed law is to ban a child boxer from fighting until he reaches 12 years old. But even with that law, child boxing will continue because it allows fighters as young as 12.

Muay Thai fighter Anachu Tasako died of brain hemorrhage after a match last Saturday in suburban Bangkok. He is 13 years old which bolstered the debate on banning child boxing in Thailand. Muay Thai is the most popular sport in Thailand where families are hoping to be lifted from poverty by the aspiration of their young child. The report said that many young fighters aged 10 to 15 have suffered brain damage.
