Former One FC welterweight champion Ben Askren will face Olympic medalist Jordan Burroughs in a grappling match on May 6 in Madison Square Garden in NY. It seems that Askren who had just jumped to UFC is kind of busy because he is featured in UFC 239 in July for a fight with Jorge Masvidal who recently won against Darren Till. Both Askren and Burroughs have admirable fight experience from the NCAA and the olympics.

It was unexpected for the highly rated Ben Askren in the wrestling mat to lose in the second period. It was a technical fall for Burroughs to a shutout win of 11-0. In fairness to Askren, he had shifted to mixed martial arts while Burroughs continued with wrestling for a career. It is now admitted that Burroughs is the better wrestler than Askren.

Jordan Burroughs is simply on another level. Askren is an accomplished wrestler and kicked ass on a collegiate level and even qualified for competing in the Olympics. But there he lost.
Burroughs on the other hand dominated the collegiate level and won gold in the Olympics. Compare their wrestling records and you will see that they are both monsters. But Burroughs is just Beyond Askren.
