The first round was a tit-for-tat affair with the grappling of Trueman and with the hits by Burnell. But in the 2nd round Burnell got the opportunity to do his own grappling and lay down the trap for a choke. It was a tap out for Burnell’s choke finish that gave him the Cage Warriors featherweight belt of Trueman.
I still can't believe this happened. Trueman has always been a beast imo. I feel like he is one of the best that Rough House has ever produced.
But you do know first round submissions is what Burnell is known for when it comes to Cage Warriors, right? of course I didn't expect it to happen with Trueman, because he is known to go all out whenever he gets in the ring. But Trueman should have at least seen this one coming.
I actually won a bet that I had placed on this fight. I don't know why people thought that Trueman was going to take this one. All I know is this was really profitable for me.
I had seen the full fight and I’d say Trueman was just relying on his grappling that made Burnell looked helpless in the first round. But I knew that Trueman didn’t have the strength while Burnell still has the power. In the 2nd round, Burnell attacked with his own grappling until that fateful finish when Trueman tapped to save his neck.
