The vacant lightweight title of Cage Warriors will be contested by Jack Grant and Jai Herbert on June 29 as part of the Cage Warriors 106 Night of the Champions in London, England. Grant has a fight record of 15-4 while Herbert has a record of 8-1. Both fighters have a 3-0 card in the Cage Warriors league so they are expected to give us a good fight with their style of offense.

Jack Grant seemed comfortable with his takedowns although Jai Herbert showed his tenacity in standing up and escaping the grip of Grant. In the 2nd round Herbert got his rhythm for a continual hit to the face of Grant. In the 3rd round, Grant may have received a lot of punches to the face that he succumbed to a big punch. The KO finish earned for Jai Herbert the Cage Warriors lightweight title.

I can't believe every fight on the main card was a title fight. I heard that the one and only time Cage Warriors did this was in 2005 at the Skydome Arena during Night of Champions.

I was too young in 2005 to even think of watching MMA.

Grant really seemed like he had things under control in the beginning of the fight. But something weird happened that totally messed up with his confidence. I'm not sure what that thing is, but he needs to look into it.

Yeah, it's kind of once in a lifetime night of the champions event for Cage Warriors. There were 6 championship bouts that were all sizzling in the arena. If Cage Warriors can do that again then maybe they can upend UFC in popularity.
