The fight went the full route of 5 rounds but it was clear that Max Holloway had successfully retained his UFC featherweight title over the attacks of Frankie Edgar who was elusive for most of the fight. With a bloodied nose, Edgar slowed down a bit in the championship rounds but he was not deterred in trying for a take down. There was only 1 take down for Edgar.
