Madison Square Garden in New York is the venue of the bout for the WBC interim lightweight belt between rising lightweight star Devin Haney and Zaur Abdullaev on September 13. Haney is undefeated with 22 wins and 14 KOs while Abdullaev is also undefeated with 7 KOs in 11 wins. The winner is expected to be pitted against the legendary lightweight champion Lomachenko.

Devin Haney claimed the WBC interim lightweight title by making short work of ZaurAbdullaev. It was all Haney starting in the first round that ended in the 4th round due to a broken cheekbone. Abdullaev simply was no match for the speed and strength of Haney who improved his fight record to 23-0 with 15 KOs.
