Re: WBO junior flyweight title - Elwin Soto vs. Edward Heno

Champion Elwin Soto successfully retained his belt in a very close decision win over Filipino Edward Heno. It was a unanimous decision that may be questionable - 114-113, 115-112, and 115-112. But some quarters have Heno winning in their own scoring. Soto was down in the 3rd round and although counted it was not really that convincing.

Elwin Soto won the WBO 108-pound title earlier this year when he stopped Angel Acosta in the 12th round of their title bout in Indio, California, and he retained it again at the same venue. It is like Deja Vu!

The first two round were not that exciting, imho. During the third round is when things kicked off and the two fighters exchanged really good punches.

I remember the bout between Elwin Soto and Angel Acosta earlier this year was full controversy. People were questioning Soto's win, and that left a lot of doubt in fans' minds. Those doubts were put to an end though, when Soto won against Edward Heno.

A lot of people were running their mouths claiming that, Elwin Soto was just lucky when he went head to head against Acosta, but this fight between him and Edward Heno proved them wrong. Now everybody knows that he can get in the ring and give fans a fight that they truly deserve.

I think Elwin Soto still needs another opponent to prove himself, so that he can finally cement his name as a fighter worthy of our respect. Two of his fights that I have managed to watch were both filled with doubts whether Soto is a real fighter or just another fluke.

Soto just needs time to prove himself, that is the only thing he needs as a fighter. Every great fighter out there has had plenty of time to test and to be tested. I feel like it is only fair that we extend the same courtesy to Elwin Soto.

The third round was definitely crazy. They were testing each other out during the first two rounds, but everything changed after that.

That is exactly what I was saying. Also, I feel like taking two rounds to figure out your opponent is really impressive.

Soto has really come a long way. I bet 2020 will be the year climbs up the ladder.

Come on! Elwin Soto has already proved himself. What more do people need to accept him?! In my book he is a good fighter and 2020 is his year to prove people wrong.
