Hey guys, I am just posting some announcements here that impact powerlifting meets. Feel free to post here if you have a contribution.

Attention USPA Members Concerned With Upcoming Meets

Posted By Steve Denison on the USPA Facebook:

Attention USPA Members:
The USPA national office has been receiving numerous inquiries from our members concerning whether upcoming competitions are being cancelled or postponed as a result of COVID-19. As of today, March 18, 2020, all competitions scheduled for the rest of March have been cancelled or postponed based on mandatory venue closures and recommendations issued by health officials throughout the country. Please refer to the event calendar on the home page of the USPA website at www.uspa.net for all current updates to the schedule. As this situation changes on a continual basis, all members should be prepared for possible cancellations or postponements of competitions scheduled for the month of April. No plans are currently being considered for any changes to events currently scheduled in May or beyond. Our event calendar will only be updated AFTER meet directors confirm changes have been made. If you have any questions regarding whether an upcoming event is being cancelled or postponed, and a change is not yet reflected on the event calendar, please contact the meet director, not the USPA national office. All USPA meet directors have been instructed to email all USPA members who have registered for their competitions to update them on any changes in scheduling. Once this is done, the USPA national office will be notified so we can update our event calendar. If a meet director is cancelling an event, or an event is postponed to a date where a member cannot participate, we support our meet directors offering them a credit to compete in a future USPA competition offered by the same meet director, with first priority to register. The credit is redeemable throughout 2020 and 2021. The credit will expire if not used within this time period. For any athlete that intended to qualify for the USPA National Championships in Palm Springs, CA who is now unable to do so based on these changes, please contact the meet director, Steve Denison, at steve@uspa.net to discuss your options. Please be safe out there. Please follow the health guidelines of your city and State. Our thoughts and prayers go out to all of you as we go through these difficult times.

Steve Denison
USPA President.

"To our USA Powerlifting family across the country, this page is dedicated to the ongoing updates for COVID-19. We continue to be focused on preserving the health and safety of our members and staff while continuing to host the premier powerlifting competitions in the nation. As we have stated in previous releases, the COVID-19 pandemic is an ever evolving situation that we are monitoring every day. We are closely following The Federal Government, CDC, State, and Local Government guidelines on mitigating the spread of the virus and preserving the health of our members and staff. Your Executive Committee, State Chairs, and Local Meet Directors are working diligently and with the spirit of our great organization in mind to keep meets running as scheduled. Athletes and volunteers should closely monitor their emails for official communications from meet directors regarding upcoming events."
