whats up with that immune system health myth?

is it true that it supports and might strengthen your system or is it just BS ?

In extreme training conditions (real ironmen, very depleted dieters, etc) it could make a positive difference in the immune system but that would be about it. It is true that glutamine is "lost" in the stomach to those cells before it makes it to the muscle however, in its defense, the idea would be that when the stomach takes priority on glutamine, it will have it from supplementation rather than pulling it from muscle stores. Since it is the most abundant amino acid found in muscle cells, it is obviously important. The reality of it all is that all proteins you eat have glutamine and most powders are extra packed with it so in most cases supplementation is questionable at best.

it is way more powerful in terms of raising growth hormore levels per G than arginine and orthenine combined. 2-5 G of glutemine w 200-400mg of niacin can result in up to a 40- 50% increase in GH levels in the body.

Glutamine turn to agrinine. But globaly it's true. Taking 2g of glutamine increase GH level after 90minutes by 4.

Take it it has lots of benefits, its a cell volumizer, it prevents muscle wasting it supports the immune system and the stomach aswell.

I agree! But the cell volumizer it's only some wind (temporarily and not effectively, but it always good for the morale).

I'll add that it inrcease plasma bicarbonat (20% after 90 minutes) and the capacity (+10%) of the kidneys to eliminate the acid in the blood (don't know how to say it right in english).

Yes its worth it but use it correctly to see benefits

I respectfully disagree, I can quote you at least 4 very serious studys which shows that there is no serious benefits for the athlete on the performance, strength or muscle mass.

So yes its worth it but it depends why you are taking some. If it's for the immune system, the stomach, the inrcease plasma bicarbonat... i agree! But if it's for the performance, strength or muscle mass there is much better supplements. For exemple leucine in the post workout shake if i had to choose another amino acid.
