i currently have 2 - 3 servings left of my No Shotgun and half a tub of Horsepower(which i cant stand the taste or mixture, so it will most likely to go waste)

After its all gone i wont be buying anymore NO Supplements, yeah a nice pump is great and all but there are better options out there for supplements, protein powder, creatine etc
the only stuff ill continue to use is Protein powder and the real stuff, anything else is just Iceing on a cake for those extra few %'s

As I said in the other NO thread. I just finished using this stuff and I can't say that I felt any effect from it at all.

^^ The citrulline malate may actually have some benefits but you would have to be taking a lot more than the current serving for it to be of use. Need 6g/day as opposed to the one part of 550mg........ factor of 10-20 out on what you would need of just one ingredient.

British Journal of Sports Medicine:Volume 36(4)August 2002pp 282-289
Citrulline/malate promotes aerobic energy production in human exercising muscle

Bendahan, D1; Mattei, J P1; Ghattas, B2; Confort-Gouny, S1; Le Guern, M E3; Cozzone, P J1

Abstract
Background: Previous studies have shown an antiasthenic effect of citrulline/malate (CM) but the mechanism of action at the muscular level remains unknown.

Objective: To investigate the effects of CM supplementation on muscle energetics.

Methods: Eighteen men complaining of fatigue but with no documented disease were included in the study. A rest-exercise (finger flexions)-recovery protocol was performed twice before (D-7 and D0), three times during (D3, D8, D15), and once after (D22) 15 days of oral supplementation with 6 g/day CM. Metabolism of the flexor digitorum superficialis was analysed by 31P magnetic resonance spectroscopy at 4.7 T.

Results: Metabolic variables measured twice before CM ingestion showed no differences, indicating good reproducibility of measurements and no learning effect from repeating the exercise protocol. CM ingestion resulted in a significant reduction in the sensation of fatigue, a 34% increase in the rate of oxidative ATP production during exercise, and a 20% increase in the rate of phosphocreatine recovery after exercise, indicating a larger contribution of oxidative ATP synthesis to energy production. Considering subjects individually and variables characterising aerobic function, extrema were measured after either eight or 15 days of treatment, indicating chronological heterogeneity of treatment induced changes. One way analysis of variance confirmed improved aerobic function, which may be the result of an enhanced malate supply activating ATP production from the tricarboxylic acid cycle through anaplerotic reactions.

Conclusion: The changes in muscle metabolism produced by CM treatment indicate that CM may promote aerobic energy production.
Not to mention that this wasn't placebo controlled, there was a lot of other confounding factors, it was done on a small amount of musclature, it was done on diseased individuals, and the participants weren't regular exercisers.........

And as I've previously stated arginine isn't that wonderfull either and once again the dose would be too small.

Nitric oxide, huh. Never understood it... pumps feel great but is it worth the $30-40 tubs? Let's discuss, because quite honestly, I feel the same affects through a steady diet!

The latest research shows that L-Citrulline/citrulline malate is much more effective at NO production than arginine.

^^ dose would still be too small wouldn't it? I didn't really take in the isomer but I think it was the L-citrulline malate. Either way the NO pump hasn't been linked to any actual growth, I'd like to see some work that shows it does.

Yep, I've also heard of anecdotal observations where blood pressure was heightened and became a suspect of stroke-related illnesses. Results being anywhere from a potential infarction or a serious case of hyper or hypo tension. Whether this was a result of NO production, I don't know, but I do know there are applicable products out there that can actually assure some sort of physical change.

Just my opinion.
