For many (or actually the majority of the lifters out there) do this as a hobby and deal with life's struggles first....powerlifting is sometimes our escape.....
"I’ve been at it (powerlifting and competing) a long time, just turned 48 in September, riding the roller coaster of work, training, nagging injuries and carbohydrates! Haven’t competed in a few years but the bug and the love never go away. Here’s my 501 lbs (227.5 kilos) at yesterday’s WABDL meet in Portland Maine put on my Al Stork. Great meets, location, logistics and awards!"
