Stellar Performance at the North East Bodybuilding Championship​

Arunachal Pradesh athletes showcased exceptional talent at the 1st North East Body Building & Physique Championship 2024 held in Sikkim. Our athletes secured multiple medals, demonstrating the state's growing prominence in the bodybuilding arena.

  • Taba Nilo - Silver Medal in Men's Bodybuilding

Gold at the Commonwealth Weightlifting Championships​

In an impressive feat, Balo Yalam clinched the Gold Medal at the Commonwealth Weightlifting Championships 2024 in Suva, Fiji. Competing in the 59 kg weight category, Yalam demonstrated exceptional strength and technique.

Yalam's Lifts:​

  • Snatch: 81 kg
  • Clean and Jerk: 100 kg
  • Total: 181 kg
This victory marks a significant milestone for Arunachal Pradesh in international weightlifting competitions.

Silver Medal by Bengia Tani in Junior Category​

Adding to the state's accolades, Bengia Tani secured a Silver Medal in the junior 67 kg category at the same championship. Tani's performance showcased remarkable consistency and improvement.

Tani's Lifts:​

  • Snatch: 118 kg
  • Clean and Jerk: 156 kg
  • Total: 274 kg
Tani had previously won a Bronze Medal at the 37th National Games in Goa, lifting 121 kg in snatch and 156 kg in clean and jerk, indicating a promising career ahead.
