i don't mean to call you dumb at all dude, but this question is misguided. the whole muscle contracts as a unit. and while you can do certain movements that may place more stress on the bed of the tricep (skull crushers, free weight movements) or the outer portion (pushdowns) you still hit the whole thing when you do any extension movement.

There isn't a "lower" triceps, so targeting it is essentially impossible. There is the effect of pennation angle and the like, but the real world basically shows that muscle belly and insertion (etc) have more influence.

So you are pretty much stuck with just trying to make the triceps bigger. See the article I posted on muscle activity in the tricep in the articles section.

as overhead triceps extensions work more of long head of the triceps, the rob press down work more of triceps. lateral head

what you where saying was what i was refering to

so let me rephrase *sigh* Do you know any exercises that stress the LATERAL head a little bit more than the other ones?

=now i really dont know what you mean by bed, sounds to me like your refering to long and medial heads

There is basically no exercise that will do what your asking. Like Duality stated- the muscle all contratcs as a unit. The best thing you can do is to choose the best mass building exercises for triceps and then go to town on them motherfuckers. Close grip press and dips i would choose.

I dont go all the way down to my chest on CGBP, i bring it down just to say 2 inches above my chest, i feel it better on my triceps that way and less on my chest.

cross chest cable pushdown. Start at the opposite shoulder and then pushdown until your arm is straight down. You need to concentrate on the tricep only.

What everyone else is saying is valid but there are ways to put more stress on different parts of muscle groups. However, like everyone else is saying, your contracting the muscle as a whole. I think you get that point though.

Curl-Grip bench press makes my lateral head burn. I don't know if it makes it grow any faster but it's a great compound exercise worth trying. :thumbsup2:
