Featherweight boxing - Mark Magsayo vs Julio Ceja

Unbeaten Filipino boxer Mark Magsayo will stake his clean record against Julio Ceja on August 22 on Fox PPV. Magsayo has 15 KOs in 22 wins while Ceja has a fight record of 32-4-1 with 28 KOs. Magsayo’s last fight was a split decision win over the tough Rigoberto Hermosillo. This is a supporting bout to the Pacquiao vs Spence title fight.

The 12-round fight was expected to be abbreviated. Right in the first round Magsayo released a left hook that caught the face of Ceja for an early knockdown. But in the succeeding rounds Ceja continually peppered Magsayo to pile up points in the score cards of the judges. The edge of Ceja was punctuated when Magsayo fell on the canvas by a left hook of Ceja in the 5th round. In the 10th round Magsayo released a combination of haymaker that felled Ceja who was asleep on the canvas. Magsayo remains undefeated with 23 wins and 16 KOs.
