Mohamed Makkawv was one of the best pro bodybuilders in the 80s!
Standing at 5'3", the IFBB legend is perhaps the most underrated athlete in the industry. But he's held in the same regard as Franco Columbu and Frank Zane - especially by Lee Haney, who Mohamed defeated 5 times out of 8.
Throughout a hugely successful bodybuilding career Mohamed won numerous competitions and received the highest sporting accolade in Egypt. He's cemented his place as an icon in the industry and the hero of his home country.
In 1983 Makkawy was just a few points away from officially becoming the best bodybuilder in the world. when all was said and done he got away with a second place finish! His strongest weapon? His ability to present what he had with masterful artistry and posing skills, arguably the best we'we ever seen (!) -
Second place finisher of the 1983 Mr. Olympia, Mohamed Makkawv.
