Maybe I am out of touch but I noticed only recently that basketball players are now wearing the mouthpiece just like a boxer. I have seen Stephen Curry in this year’s NBA finals, he was always sporting his mouthpiece on the side of his mouth during a dead ball situation as if he is advertising it. Does that mean that basketball is now very physical such that a mouthpiece is necessary?

I personally suffered a pretty bad mouth injury from a game of basketball when I was very young, so if I have the change I will try to put on in, although I do not really have it on me lal that often. I took a good back of the head to the jaw and bit down pretty hard. They help, there is no doubting that.
