With 2009 almost over and done, how was your bodybuilding / gym lifting year?

*did you reach your set goals & what were they?
*did you get any injuries
*Highlighted moments through some of the best days in the gym for 2009
*Personal bests
*failed attempts
*New supplements your've tried etc

2009 was a re-awakening for me as far as bodybuilding goes. I used to be really into bodybuilding but then became unsure about what it is that i really wanted. The last two years were terrible as far as improvement but 09 was different. I was able to lose fat and build muscle and gain knoledge.

I had problems with my hamstring tendons but im fine now, my elbows bother me once in a while but they are feeling much better.

I had a few of personal bests this year. They are not impressive lifts compared to what you guys lift but they were my bests :)
Deadlift = 385lbs
Squat = 315
Bench = 255 (which is a lot for me because i rarely do flat bench)
DB Curl = 60X4 in each arm
DB Rows= 135X6

A highlight training day is when i did my dead, squat, and bench personal records (listed above) in the same day.

I tried 275 on the bench but i failed because someone spotted me.

I tried Universal M-stack for a few weeks. I felt a difference but i had also just started taking more protein, creatine, and glutamine so i dunno if it made a difference but im sure it helped in some small way.

It was a good year for me, I have a feeling next year may be even better :D

Well, my major goals for 2009 were set just a month ago, so I can't quite say yet!

By Jan. 30th, I'll either have win or fail.

No injuries, no new supps, just the realization that I was fat and out of shape. Best lift at the start of my 'prep' were a 250 bench, 275 squat, and a 315 dead. I'd like to repeat this, at minimum, at about 13 pounds lighter. (5 to go!)

I have my eyes on 2010.....

IMO if you compete for the first time, you win. Then in the next comp if you beat your last total you win. Then aim for elite! :turborun:

Reach bodyweight between 150 and 160 pounds (68-72 kg)before wrestling season, failed. I guess I blame that on not knowing what I want to do, example: changing from bodybuilding routine to powerlifting routine to olympic lifting routine and then before I knew it, wrestling season was around the corner. Never got around to benching 2 x my body weight. I've had too many goals and it was hard to focus on reaching all of them. They all interfered with each other. I guess I learned to try to stick to one thing first, but it's hard to choose which to pick.

*did you get any injuries
I always get some type of injuries from playing an excessive amount of sports, but nothing too serious like muscle tears and whatnot.

I don't care how tall you all are, the lower I am the easier it is to punch you all in the nuts.

Pickle is dreamy... *sigh*

I would like to think that 2010 could see a straight version of this thread.

2009 has been a get back on track year for me. Stayed injury free probably about 85-90% of my best ever strength and should surpass my best in 2010

*did you reach your set goals & what were they?
The only goals I set were to increase my strength. didnt put anything on paper but the start of the year i squatted again for the first time in a few years and couldnt a2g 90kg for more then 3 reps i got 160kg for 2 the other day so it hasnt been a bad year.

*did you get any injuries
nope, did get sick a lot and am sick at the moment.

*Highlighted moments through some of the best days in the gym for 2009
Definitely training with elfreako and skippy i could do them both again :)

*Personal bests
(best lifts this year.)
125kg bench *1 (did 110*6 for 5 sets last friday so id say id get 130kg up now which is my all time 1rm lol)
160kg squat *2 (technically my alltime 1rm but in my mind not really.)
180kg deadlift (shit form tho so shouldnt count, my best is 215kg)

*failed attempts
wasnt specific enough with my goals, so didnt reach my full pumptential. Wanted to train with skip more but only trained with him once. gay gay

*New supplements you've tried this year
Creatine bsc effervesent. tastes like berocca lololol. it definately helps me pump better then not taking a creatine :p

goals for 2010
140kg bench
200kg squat
Incline dumbell press 50kg for 8-12 reps
Weighted Chins with 20kg for sets of 10
get to 105kg @ <12% bf
