DA, I believe there's a hack that lets you play very high on XP. You should check that out. Nice computer you've got there.

Yes, I know there is, I have tested it before, but I get fps drops when to much happend at the same time, and the fucks with the experience.
When I did use this hack I used very high on everything, 2 aa, I dont remember the af, and it was rolling at 20-25fps

I cant use very high in XP, I need DX10 for that, In vista it was even nicer, with fade and lights. The fps is much lower in Vista though, cause of the total lack of game performance. The memory leakage Vista has is really bad.
It uses 3,4gb memory in cache, and for nothing...The XP x64 I use right now uses 2,6gb after I've played for 30min.

I'm thinking about getting another 8800GTS so I can use SLi, then it will look awesome

I just installed my 3870x2 , 1gb GDDR3, even has a bult in HD-audio sound chip. heh...AC3 audio. everything i got runs max.besides crysis...
got 4gigs of ram.

Thats a nice setup I've not seen any tests with the Radeon 3870x2 but I've heard that the performance is better on other cards from the same generation though. Do you use Vista? then shut off all themes and all animations. On my rig, Crysis freezes after a while cause the memory´s full...all 4gb, maximum I've seen XP use in Crysis is 3gb.

i got a conroe e6600@3600 , 2gig ram and a 8800gtx @ ultra

runs good, but i don't like the gameplay in crysis.. it gets boring pretty fast

Yeah that would run like a dream with that CPU and that graphic card..that just kills my rig
But you know that even if you could run it on Very high right now, installing 2gb more ram would make it even better cause the bandwith in the game would get better thats how many new games work.
2gb on max looks better then 1gb on max and 4gb looks better then 2gb, to a (too a degree)
Just remember, if you get 4gb ram, you'll need a 64bit Windows. 32bit windows only support 3,25gb

About the gameplay, yes it gets old quick, the only reason I'm still playing it is because I just love to blow houses up with C4 and to stalk people in the jungle and so on

Viste is shit to play games on it. You need higher specs on everything, and the DX10 is worthless garbage. You can even hack games to use some elements of DX10 in XP :3

You have a pretty good computer, but Crysis can drain a lot more firepower. I`ve seen dual 500+ mb cards playing that shit overclocked... it was pure god damn bliss. Also the comp had 5 GB of memory and some bitch ass 4core processor.

And yet, the game still lagged at some heavy points. The game is like a monster from the future, I bet it sucks the soul of the computer too.

im going to get a 4gig kit next month, right now i got 4gigs of DDR2 800mhz
im going to try and get 4 gigs of DDR2 1066
then a new PSU
then another Radeon 3870x2 for Crossfire (quad crossfire)
New 24inch widescreen LCD monitor

Does Vista use all 4gb you have right now?..go check system on the control panel, if It does you have a x64 version, if not you have a x86 version (32bit)windows

3.5gigs, i have 32bit, i wont purchase 64 in a while
only until most programs actually use/utilize 64bit
